Another reason is the growing dominance of electronic media in our daily life and concerning our future career. Being familiar with the internet becomes more important in a large number of professions and especially for linguists. It is very helpful to use the internet actively as often as possible and useful. The internet also presents a source of information and helps to get familiar with the topic of the lecture. Writing the portfolio on a website is a form of applied text linguistics as well.
